Final cut of music video

This is the final cut of our music video which has now been uploaded to YouTube. Considering the amount of work and time that has gone into it, I am very pleased with the outcome.
The pre-production, production and post-production has really paid off.
We edited it all on Final Cut Pro, cutting the video to the beat and trying to include the main themes.

The strengths that I found with the final product are that we managed to make it very different from the conventional music videos seen nowadays. I like the bright saturated colours and psychadellic atmosphere when entering the house, and I feel it conforms to our star image.

The pre-roll works quite well for me and we added in non-diegetic sounds of birds and footsteps. I think this went quite well especially as it was quite rushed when shooting this.

Overall, I am very pleased with the product, and I look forward to seeing what feedback is generated through YouTube.

Final Version of Digipak

Here is the final version of our digipak cover. We had major inspiration from other artists such as Red Hot Chilli Peppers and Eels, who tend to feature quite "trippy" and "psychadelic" colours and themes. We wanted to have a direct link back to our music video by using fairytale characters and themes and the colours are all linked as well. The front and back cover are quite simple and don't contain images of the band, because we wanted to conform to our star image of being arty and alternative. I think this would also appeal to the target audience because it would be the type of things they would find interesting.

I created this cover by sketching out these individual drawings on paper and scanning them into Photoshop. I overlayed them and changed the hues and saturations to link in with our theme.
We placed a Parental Advisory label on the front cover as we wanted to show that our target audience is young adults and older teenagers.

Overall I am very happy with how the digipak has come out and I think it strongly connects to our artist.

Our Poster

This is the final version of our advertisement poster for our artist. I created this using Photoshop and a picture I took on the shoot day.  I over saturated the colours ( much like the digipak and music video) and burnt the edges to make it darker. I edited in new media technologies such as the iPhone App store link, and the screen shot of the album cover.
I edited in Alice in Wonderland into the clock, as a sort of hidden message. The lead singer is also looking down to add a sense of mystery. I wanted this to address our target audience in a direct way, to grab their attention. The tour dates were put in the artists hat for a reason to draw attention to it.

Overall I am very happy with the poster and think it came out very well. I feel it really resembles our artist and links directly back to the themes and messages contained in the music video.
